Emergency Warming Center
The warming center is run by a minimum of 4 (2 males/2 females) trained volunteers from our community, serving in 6-hour time slots, covering the hours of 6 pm - 6 am.
- While we understand that even 35 degrees is cold when you’re homeless or without heat, our current policy is to open when the temperatures are going to be 20 degrees or colder for 48 hours or longer, or at the request of Emergency Management.
The more trained volunteers we have available moving forward will allow us to open at even warmer temps and hopefully remain open for even longer stints of time.
We have had the opportunity to provide this ministry for the last 3 years, and we have learned more and more each season we operate!
